After cursing New England winters for years, I never thought I’d confess to missing them, but the utter lack of winter in San Francisco has me longing for a snowfall . . . and a wedding filled with snowflakes, ice skates, and steaming hot cocoa. I’ve consoled myself for now with this board, which features a color palette of icy blues, woodsy browns, and winter whites and beiges. I drew inspiration from one of my favorite food blogs, Roost, which recently featured the most wonderful winter dessert imaginable: butternut squash and hazelnut bouchons with toasted nutmeg ice cream. I was also inspired by Ashley Krogman’s charmingly rustic winter tablescapes (hello, wooden owls, paper rosettes, snow ice cream, and molasses!), and the couple holding hands beneath the falling snow on a covered bridge just melted my heart.
