We’re ending the year on a romantic note—and warding off winter’s chill—with this heartwarming December engagement session captured by Ben & Les, a remarkably talented husband-and-wife photography duo based out of Columbus. In the name of getting the perfect shots, the couple, Erica and Clay, and their adventurous photographers braved frigid temperatures and a rickety little canoe on an icy cold lake! Erica brought along some of her favorite pieces from J. Crew, including a statement turquoise necklace, which popped beautifully against all the forest browns; a cozy knit blanket, as much for comfort as for style; and a charming pearl bracelet, which added a little elegance to the rustic whimsy of the day. “The wintry atmosphere combined with the beautiful details that Erica prepared and the warm moments between the couple made for some truly magical images,” Les said. One of our favorite details is the handmade ampersand sign, crafted on location out of tree vines.

I am such a sucker for engagement shoots involving a row boat – so cute! And it reminds me every time of ‘The Notebook.’
Love the beautiful boat; it looks so romantic!
Love the natural color scheme – really brings out the coziness!
