Today’s dreamily romantic wedding portrait session will have you yearning to prolong the frosty days of winter, or at least wanting to tie the knot during the season of snow. For the shoot, Kylee and Riley, childhood sweethearts who fell in love on a school playground when they were four years old, traveled all the way from their home in Idaho to Salt Lake City, Utah, during one of the worst snowstorms of the year. Given the weather, they initially feared how it would turn out, and to say that stress levels were high would be an understatement. Along with their seasoned photographer, Abbey of AK Studio & Design, they worried about encountering a dreary, slushy setting on the day of the session. But luck was on their side, and the storm cleared just in time. “Every tree and bit of ground was perfectly covered in snow,” Abbey said. “The trees were astonishingly beautiful, and they set the perfect scene for a rustic winter session, which was just what Kylee wanted. Wearing a gorgeous lace dress and an amazing crystal headband from Olivia Nelson, she looked absolutely perfect. With its rustic touches, including pinecones and burlap, her custom bouquet was also breathtaking.”
