In the world of wedding fashion, few things excite our fancy as much as a showstopping hairpiece. On that note, we’re thrilled to announce the arrival of renowned Canadian milliner Blair Nadeau’s 2013 collection, which was just launched this month. Handmade in a quaint Toronto studio by the designer herself, Blair’s latest line, which reflects her most thoughtful and fashion-forward vision for bridal headwear to date, was inspired by the beauty of ancient Greece and the palette-knife strokes used by French impressionists. With a delicate color palette of ivory, buttercream, blush, pale yellow, peach, and champagne, Blair’s intricately handcrafted pieces recreate the feel of a soft impressionist painting, and they’re more than fit for a Grecian goddess. Luxurious fabrics and trims were sourced from around the world to create the collection, which introduces floral crowns, circlets, lace Juliet caps, crystal-encrusted hair combs, and crystal fascinators to the range, silhouettes that were not previously available. Leaves are gilt with 14-carat gold, chains of white gold are draped from crowns and circlets, sparkling Swarovski crystals are twisted and curled with gold- and silver-plated wire, and sinamay and tulle are etched by hand with beading and lace. We think Degas and Aphrodite would approve.
The collection can now be found in Blair’s Etsy boutique, where every piece is available worldwide. Click on each image for more information.
